Inspired by an image in Joseph Campbell’s ‘The Way of the Animal Powers’ (Volume 1,1988) The original is probably a Shaman’s visionary mask from the Spiro Mound in Leflore County in Oklahoma. Approximately 1200-1600 CE.

To this artist it symbolizes our shared existence with all life forms in the natural world, as we know it. A human as part of the animal spirit.
